Introduction

Vitamin B3 is a water-soluble vitamin, the product is white powder, odorless or nearly odorless, bitter in taste, freely soluble in water or ethanol, dissolvable in glycerin.
Vitamin B3 mainly exists in animal viscera, muscle tissue, fruits, egg yolk also exist in trace amounts, is one of the 13 essential vitamins. At present, niacin is mainly used as a feed additive, which can improve the utilization rate of feed protein, milk production of cows and meat production and quality of fish, chicken, duck, cattle, sheep and other livestock. Niacin is also a widely used pharmaceutical intermediate, with its raw materials, it can be synthesized into a variety of pharmaceuticals, such as niclosamide and nicotinic acid inositol ester, etc.

Functions and Applications

1. The Niacin is dissolvable in boil water or boil ethanol, slightly dissolvable in water, hardly soluble in ethanol, freely soluble in carbonate solution or aqueous alkali. Niacin belongs to the Vitamin B, participating in metabolism in the body,can be used to prevent pellagra or other niacin defection disease and to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
2. It is also used to lower the risk of heart attack in people with high cholesterol who have already had a heart attack. Niacin is sometimes used to treat coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis).
